The Black Donors Project is a grassroots participatory action research project that explores the relational giving of Black art donors, Black artists, and intersecting Black-led movement systems.
We intentionally honor the realness of Black joy and the legacy and language of Black giving. We honor the sacrifices of our ancestors who paved the way for us to continue to support our communities using the tools that we have in
the ways we can.

The project utilizes a combination of surveys, focus groups, and individual interviews to collect quantitative and qualitative data on preferred Black philanthropic giving preferences highlighting the arts.
We participate in a collaborative and community-led approach to Black philanthropy, ensuring that proposed solutions come from and are grounded in the real experiences and needs of Black communities.
